Sometimes when I watch The Tonight Show, I think to myself what Johnny Carson would think about it today. Jimmy Fallon’s version seems to be part talk show, part game show. Thankfully, there are times when the games are quite good. Having Meghan Trainor as a special guest, Fallon had her play the Musical Genre Challenge.
The game consists of getting a song and a genre to sing that song in. Trainor had to cover Selena Gomez’s ‘Lose You To Love Me’ as an EDM song, ‘Adore You’ by Harry Styles in Soca, and T-Pain’s ‘Booty Wurk’ as a soft-pop ballad. Fallon did ‘Gettin’ Jiggy Wit It’ in 50’s rock n’ roll as well as ‘Dance Monkey’ by Tones And I as Frank Sinatra.
Later on in the show, Trainor took the stage to perform ‘Nice To Meet Ya.’ The Nicki Minaj-assisted track is the latest single from her new album Treat Myself. She kind of recreates the music video by being a sexy boss in an office setting. Watch it down below!
