Madonna was performing one of the many Madame X Tour shows she is doing at the legendary London Palladium theater. As soon as she went over her 11pm curfew, the theater decided to turn on the house lights and close the curtain. This made Madonna go nuts as she yelled, ‘F*ck you motherf*ckers! Censorship, censorship, motherf*cking censorship!’
Almost appropriately coincidentally, this was just as an interlude where the words ‘Artists Are Here to Disturb the Peace’ wrapped up before her last song ‘I Rise.’ Being the Madonna we all know her to be, she ordered her dancers to storm the stage going through the curtain and she performed her song – house lights on and all.
She wrote on an Instagram post: ‘it was 5 minutes past our 11:00 curfew—-we had one more song to do and The Palladium decided to censor us by pulling.down the metal fire curtain that weighs 9 tons. Fortunately they stopped it half way and no one was hurt………….. Many Thanks to the entire Audience who did not move and never left us. 👊🏼👊🏽👊🏿 Power to The People!!’
In what’s actually somewhat of a treat considering that she is not allowing phones or cameras inside the venue, she posted the entire incident and performance of ‘I Rise.’ Watch it below!
