Again, why is everyone in such a sad mood lately?
LeAnn Rimes is doing something very cool this month. Each Friday of February, she is putting out a love song considering that Valentine’s Day falls on this very month, even more on this very day. Instead of singing songs that give you that warm, fuzzy feeling in your stomach (blushing face and all), she is doing songs that make you feel empty inside (teary face and all). It’s sad boy hours my friends.
For Valentine’s Day, she took on ‘When The Party’s Over’ by Billie Eilish. Recorded in her empty house this edition of what she is calling the LovE Sessions features her sitting down at the end of a dining room table filling the room with the melancholy in her voice. What a somber way to bring the mood down on Cupid’s birthday. Ha!
Despite all that, her delivery is spine-tingling. Her voice finds powerful moments to engage with the song, not nearly mimicking Eilish’s whispering bouts, but providing almost the same effect.
Last week, she covered a slightly less sad ‘Lose You To Love Me’ by Selena Gomez.
