The Weeknd’s upcoming After Hours tour has been postponed multiple times. While everything seemed to be ready to go, new changes to the tour are happening. It is not being canceled, but the shows won’t take place in arenas anymore. There is a lot of demand so he will now do his first ever stadium tour.
‘The tour dates are moving and will commence in the summer of 2022,’ he said in a statement. ‘Due to constraints of arenas and the demand for more shows I want to do something bigger and special for your which requires stadiums.’
The new tour dates will be announced at a later date. Shows will happen in North America, Europe, South America, Asia, Australia, Africa, and the Middle East. Those with tickets to the arena shows will automatically get refunded and will have priority opportunity to buy tickets when they go on sale.
As of this posting, the original arena tour had 108 shows scheduled to start in January and wrap up in November. The stadium tour announcement surely will condense that while still accomodating as many fans.
