Jimmy Kimmel created a special moment for a New York nurse with the help of Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters. The nurse, TJ Riley, works at a hospital in the Bronx which has been solely focused on the coronavirus pandemic. Unfortunately, Riley was the first out of his coworkers to also be infected – shortly after about 60% of this hospital’s workforce was also infected.
His supportive husband and parents, who helped him during his illness, were also infected. Thankfully, they were able to overcome the coronavirus without major issues. To lighten things up and to thank him for being a healthcare worker during this time, Kimmel invited him on his late night talk show to talk about the situation and give him a sweet surprise.
Apart from giving him $10,000 and promising gift baskets for everyone in his department, Kimmel also introduced Riley to one of his favorite musicians in Grohl. This prompted an semi-planned acoustic performance of the Foo Fighter’s hit ‘Everlong.’
It was a sweet moment to say the least.
