R. Kelly is facing a new indictment in his ongoing legal problems. Another minor, aged 15, has come forward with accusations that the singer sexually abused her for the duration of four years starting in 1997. The singer, once again, denies doing any of this.
According to the Chicago Tribune, this also comes with a forfeit ‘of all assets of Kelly’s production company, Bass Productions Ltd.’ There’s also an attempt to bring into trial the attempts of buying back some of his many sex tapes with help from co-defendants Derrel McDavid and Milton Brown.
His lawyer, Steve Greenberg, tweeted, ‘We are aware of the superseding indictment. We continue to fight for him and look forward to the day he is free.’
Good luck with that.
A hearing is currently set for March 5. His initial charges – 13 counts of sexual abuse and child pornography – are currently scheduled to be heard in federal court on April 27 in Chicago and then another one in May at a Brooklyn court. Kelly remains under custody since his arrest in July of 2019.
