Unequivocally, this is a perfect match. Billie Eilish’s vocals have landed on the latest James Bond theme song. She has released ‘No Time To Die,’ which will feature in the movie of the same name. It was written and recorded by her and her brother Finneas.
An instant 007 song classic, it has the haunting buildup with the sorrowful chorus. The latter resembles Sam Smith’s ‘Writing’s On The Wall’ from the 2015 film Spectre – specifically when she words the lyrics ‘fool me once, fool me twice.’ A chorus that is followed by an aggrandizing orchestral wave manufactured by the brilliant Hans Zimmer.
Unlike most of Billie’s music, Finneas confirmed that the song was done on the road as they have been touring nonstop. He also said that the movie is ‘incredible’ and that ‘people are really going to like it.’
The film No Time To Die hits theaters April 10.
I’m a huge fan of the Bond franchise, and have always found that the songs for each film to be an integral part of the entire experience. What a great choice to have Billie and Finneas work on this. It makes me want to see the movie even more!
