This Sunday (Feb. 11), Usher will take the stage for the biggest audience of his career at the Super Bowl. While details of his performance remain a secret, two longtime collaborators are likely to appear.
Alicia Keys was reportedly seen rehearsing with Usher at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Thursday. The two collaborated on the 2004 hit ‘My Boo,’ so we fully expect that to be on the setlist.
Meanwhile, TMZ reports that Usher directly contacted Justin Bieber with hopes of getting a thumbs up to appear at halftime. Usher was the young singer’s mentor during the rise of his career in the early 2010s, and the two collaborated on the Bieb’s ‘Somebody To Love.’
They also shared the stage at the 2011 GRAMMYs where they performed a medley of songs including ‘Baby’ and ‘OMG.’
“I have definitely went through a lot of ideas of who I would have share this moment with me and I do feel like the people who are gonna share it deserve just as much recognition for what they do in their careers – whether we have collaborated together or rather they’ve had moments of their own,” Usher said during a press conference on Thursday.
Keep your eyes peeled for what could be a star-studded halftime show!
