Like DJ Khaled would say … another one!
Katy Perry and her team took a tour of The Colosseum at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas last week. Joined by Caesar Entertainment officials, the singer was there to discuss the idea of a residency show in Sin City to start later this year.
This meeting took about one hour and included spending time in the seating area, stage, and even the dressing rooms.
This would be a good move for Perry given that her last album Witness didn’t do as well as planned. Plus, everyone is doing Vegas nowadays so she might as well join the bandwagon while it’s hot.
Celine Dion, who we could say is the queen of The Colosseum, is ending her six-year stint at the venue this June ahead of the release of a new album and a massive world tour. Additionally the other Colosseum regular, Mariah Carey, ended her last few shows a couple of months ago with no plans in the near future. This would open things up for Perry to schedule her own residency show.
If Perry continues to do American Idol, this would be the ideal opportunity for her. Las Vegas is close to Los Angeles, and a residency show schedule is more flexible than a tour. It’d be exciting to hear her roar deep in the middle of Nevada!
