Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper stole the show at the 91st Academy Awards on Sunday night. Their critically-acclaimed film A Star Is Born was nominated for many awards, but the record-breaking song ‘Shallow’ is what gave them a win tonight. And to honor the massive song, the two gave it justice with a beautifully elegant performance.
A piano was brought on stage as the guitar chords of the song played in the background. The two artists stood up from their front row seats to go on stage and give one of the most emotional musical moments in Oscar history that ended with a very intimate gesture from both of them.
Gaga’s vocals were as powerful as ever, and Cooper proved that he can sing live. It was quite a captivating moment to see them – not in character as Ally and Jack – perform the song and celebrate this pop culture moment they have shared since the film’s release last October.
