Ariana Grande Rules The World: ‘Thank U, Next’ Debuts At Number One

Ariana Grande is doing grand things with her career nowadays. The beloved pop star just scored her fourth number one album as Thank U, Next takes the top of the charts with 360,000 units moved in its release week. This makes it the most streamed pop album in a week. Impressive!

Her dominance continues on the charts. She is now tied with Taylor Swift in second place with a total of four albums debuting at number one in the this decade. Lady Gaga has five number one albums out since 2010 – with A Star Is Born being the most recent one.

Thank U, Next is Grande’s second number one album in less than six months. Sweetener debuted at number one last September. However, the numbers this new album has accumulated are outstanding – making it her most successful release week ever.

  • Thank U, Next – 360,000
  • Sweetener – 231,000
  • My Everything – 169,000
  • Yours Truly – 138,000

She’s killing it. It’s usually by album number five that things start getting rocky for artists, so hopefully she keeps making the right moves. As long as she keeps putting out those relatable radio bops geared to teens and Twitter gays, then she’ll do just fine.
