Lady Gaga is killing it this award season. Not only by collecting trophies almost everywhere she goes, but also with sales for the smash hit ‘Shallow’ with Bradley Cooper from A Star Is Born. This promo of sorts is giving her huge gains.
After her interesting rock-like performance of ‘Shallow’ at the Grammy Awards, the song’s sales went up by 229%. On Sunday night, ‘Shallow’ garnered about 14,000 downloads. That is a whooping 10,000 downloads higher than the previous day.
This keeps the song atop the iTunes Worldwide charts for a non-consecutive 101th day. ‘Shallow’ just surpassed Carly Rae Jepsen’s huge 2012 hit ‘Call Me Maybe’ with this feat – making it the fifth biggest number one song on the iTunes Worldwide chart.
These are the songs that have spent the most amount of days at number one on those charts.
- ‘Happy’ by Pharrell – 188 days
- ‘Hello’ by Adele – 111 days
- ‘Shape Of You’ by Ed Sheeran – 110 days
- ‘Despacito’ by Luis Fonsi – 103 days
- ‘Shallow’ by Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper – 101 days
- ‘Call Me Maybe’ by Carly Rae Jepsen
It’s clear that A Star Is Born has brought a huge new wave of success for Lady Gaga!
