Janet Jackson and Stevie Nicks are the only women nominees for 2019’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. But, they are in great male company that’s for sure. Def Leppard, The Cure, Radiohead, Roxy Music, and The Zombies are also going to be inducted next spring.
The announcement was made earlier today. As usual, it is awarded to those that have made significant contributions to the world of music in a period of over 25 years. The induction ceremony will be held at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on March 29th. Tickets will go on sale in January. And, the show will eventually air in Sirius XM and HBO.
Stevie Nicks is part of a memorable moment. She is the only female artist to have been inducted twice, as she is already part of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame with Fleetwood Mac. They were inducted in 1998. But, she is being inducted as a solo artist next year.
I’m especially excited about Janet! She has had a tremendous couple of years. She bounced back from having to reschedule a tour to have her baby and getting divorced. Not only did she complete the rescheduled tour, but she did several legs. And, she released one of the best songs (IMO) of 2018 with Daddy Yankee in ‘Made For Now.’
So yay for all of them!
