Award season is just about to start and a lot of music-related films and actors could have a very successful run.

Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s remake of A Star Is Born scored a total of five nominations. Meanwhile, the Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody scored two nominations. And the Best Original Song category has nominations for Kendrick Lamar, SZA, Troye Sivan, Dolly Parton, Mark Ronson, and Annie Lennox.

Lady Gaga could very well win her second Golden Globe, her first for a motion picture. She won one for her appearance on American Horror Story: Hotel in 2016. She is nominated for Best Actress in a Drama as well as for her composing credit on the A Star Is Born’s hit song ‘Shallow’ alongside Mark Ronson. Additionally, Bradley Cooper is nominated for Best Actor in a Drama and Best Director while the film is up for Best Drama Motion Picture.

Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody is also nominated for Best Motion Picture in Drama. Plus, lead actor Rami Malek – who plays Freddie Mercury – is up for Best Actor in a Motion Picture.

‘Shallow’ is up against ‘All The Stars’ by Kendrick Lamar and SZA from Black Panther, ‘Revelation’ by Troye Sivan from Boy Erased, Dolly Parton’s ‘Girl In The Movies’ from Dumplin’, and ‘Requiem For A Private War’ by Annie Lennox from A Private War.

It looks like the music category is full of excellent songs. It should be a very exciting ceremony, and completely unpredictable.
