UPDATE – There are new reports suggesting that Maroon 5 is performing the halftime show at the Super Bowl. However, we have not yet been able to confirm these reports. (Sept. 19, 2018 – 2:30 PM EST)

The last few Super Bowl halftime shows have been complete extravaganzas with the likes of Beyonce, Coldplay, Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake, etc. And while Super Bowl LIII is still about six months away, word on the street is that the NFL and sponsor Pepsi are already down to their final list of possible performers.

Sources tell us that the final list include a variety of artists from different genres, but the focus on pop music is still very much a thing. The likes of Jennifer Lopez, Janet Jackson, and Pink are being considered for the big show. That’s a big deal if Jackson is able to return after so many years of backlash following nipplegate.

In addition to that, they are also considering the idea of other genres. Names such as Kendrick Lamar and Drake came up as well as Blake Shelton, Luke Bryan, Carrie Underwood, and Jason Aldean. The latter, however, being considered as a super-performance meaning many different country artists could appear on the same stage.

Regardless, I’m sure that this year will be huge once again. (And hopefully, better than last year’s performance. Oops! Ha!)
